ALL MY OUTFITS FROM NYFW

Well, another fashion week has come and gone. As always, it was a whirlwind. Between running to different shows, catching up with other blogger friends, and toiling away trying to launch the fall issue of my digital magazine (subscribe here for that if you haven’t), I felt completely exhausted afterwards. But was it worth it? HELL YES. It’s the time of year when I feel I can really take some risks with that I wear, and every time I do it, it seems to give me more confidence to stretch my creative wings a bit further–and give even more zero fucks (would that be considered -0 fucks?). Because you all were vocal about how much you enjoyed last season’s post with my outfits, here are all my outfits from NYFW. Hope this inspires you to dress a little out of the box, too!

I call this look grandma chic. Wore this to an early morning show, and grabbed coffee with the lovely @curvily and @thecurvytrini afterward. My hair was going on day 4 of no washing, so I sprayed it with Arrojo Dry Shampoo, wrapped it loosely around a curling iron, and popped in a barrette.

This outfit is clothing from 100% women-owned businesses–something I tried to focus on this fashion week. The weather was awful on this day–rainy and cold, so it made me infinitely happy that I had popped by the showroom of women-owned brand Levivel 1206 a couple of days earlier to pick up this matching raincoat and bucket hat. The harem pants are size inclusive brand Marste, and the top is actually my bikini top from size inclusive swimwear brand Kitty And Vibe.

This look is a three part mix of Margo from The Royal Tennenbaums, Carrie from Sex & The City, and Cher from Clueless. The jacket is another Levivel 1206 piece. And yes, those are actual paperclips in my hair. The bag is a vintage find that I saw in a window over two months ago. I took it as a sign that I should snag it a couple weeks ago when I saw it still sitting there.

This was taken right before I went to the Nicole Miller show, which was definitely the highlight of my week. She showed women of all different ages on the runway. How cool is that? This skirt is from a new women-owned brand 8apart. Can you also tell that there’s a running theme of sheer shirts? I was into them, what can I say?

This was my final evening of fashion week. I had run to three events and a show before this, and I was regretting my footwear choice. But if I didn’t have to walk over 12000 steps in them, they would have been fine! Yes, that is the same skirt I wore earlier in the week, which was a conscious decision. It’s usually considered a no-no to wear the same thing during fashion week, but I wanted to make a point that we don’t all have unlimited budgets, and part of fashion is getting creative with what we have.
