SPRING 2018 TRENDS: RUFFLES + FLORALS

Warmer weather is on the horizon and I’m loving the combination of ruffles and florals as one of the Spring 2018 trends I’ve been seeing. We were slammed with a snow storm two days ago in NYC. And to think I honestly believed this would be the year that spring would actually rear it’s pretty little head once March first came along. BUT I can’t really complain, because we did just get back from our honeymoon in Mexico, which is where I took these photos.

I snagged this dress from ASOS, along with a few other items for the vacay, and I wore it twice while we were there. It’s such a fun and vibrant print, and I love how the ruffles are so romantic and move in the breeze. For daytime wear, I paired it with slide sandals and these adorable fringe earrings that Mulberry & Grand so kindly sent, but amped up the glam factor in the evening with the lucite heel mules from RAYE that I went crazy for on Instagram stories.

Once spring and summer actually come along, I’ll be hitting replay on this outfit. I’m thinking it might look retro-chic with my $27 white ankle boots that I showed on the blog awhile back for those days were it’s not quite warm enough for open-toed shoes.

As for any trend that’s more of a statement, I would suggest choosing pieces from somewhere that’s affordable, because you may not end up keeping/wearing it forever. I generally never spend more than $100 on trendy clothing for that very reason. This dress is $45, and it comes in curvy and maternity sizes. I’ve linked to some affordable options below, including this dress, and some other pieces that made up my outfit.

Hope you all are having a badass week!
