After years and years of skinny jeans, I’m so happy to see something different coming out of women’s pants. Don’t get me wrong, as a short girl, I’m all about the skinny (no tailoring required!), but in the summer, that is a hot, sticky mess. I mean, have you ever tried peeling off a pair of skinnies on a 90 degree day? Talk about a workout! Needless to say, the frilled trousers trend couldn’t have come any sooner. They’re roomy and lightweight enough to allow a little breathing room, and the frills at the bottom are like having built in air vents. I personally like the cropped versions best because you’re able to show off a statement shoe that way, and you don’t have to worry about stepping on the hems (again, short girl problems).

I’ve been wearing frilled trousers nonstop, but in this particular post, I wore them on a day when we were playing tourists in Miami. Because I’m 5’2″ and wasn’t wearing heels with this outfit, I paired the pants with a navy crop top to create a monochromatic, elongating look that I accessorized with my silver slide sandals and striped crossbody bag (something you’ve seen a lot of…and will probably see more of because it’s my fave and literally goes with everything!).
